Parental Controls won't disconnect device only blocks new connections

Ive been using the parental controls on my AC68 to control access for my son during the week. Ive discovered however that although the controls go into effect and block access, if he is connected at the time the connection remains persistent until he breaks it. No new connections can be made or restored when the block is in effect. The only way to disconnect is to reboot.
