Asus RT-AC88U best software

Hi Guys,

I do have a question around the software for the Asus RT-AC88U.

Actually I'm confused what way Asus like to go, for me it looks like they fire software to the marked without having a clear goal.

First the beta release ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 9.0.0.4.380.2697

What exactly does it mean:
