Router Upgrade Info?

I'm looking to upgrade from a N66U to a AC3100 in anticipation of a Gig connection upgrade and I'd like to know what's the best version of the 3100 to get and how do I know what version of the model I'm getting. Where do I look? Is there a sticker somewhere on the box?

I'm planning on buying it from my local Best Buy store.
