rt-ac1900P version/hw

hi.
i just bought a 1900p from BB. upgraded to current merlin fw. much better info.

i realized this is the BB version of the ac68u. should i have gotten a netgear which is available as the manufacturers ver, not the BB? so that i can use other firmware...

i went with BB because i wanted the geek squad warranty, i have seen too many consumer routers fail.
