I've upgraded my old RT-N66 to a RT-AC66U B1. The N66 router was flashed with the latest Merlin firmware.
I've noticed that with the new AC66, the wifi range in the house is much worse than before. Has Asus deliberately crippled the new routers, to encourage people to extend with a mesh network?
According to Merlin's website, the AC66 is not supported. I had noticed that when I flashed the N66 with the Merlin firmware, the range seemed to increase, but the range now is even worse...
