Not sure of the inner workings and if they have applied any limits here, but, I currently have an RP-AC55 in AP mode using an ethernet connection back to an Asus router. It's in the foamed attic, works great, 110 outside doesn't bother it at all since attic is not hot. I need a second one in the attic.
