Hello All,
I have contacted ASUS support, but did not get relevant help from them. The router has the latest firmware version ( 3.0.0.4.382_52272-g73d3ea2 ), but did the same with earlier versions.
If someone also have RT-AC1200G+ router, could you please try to open

I have an 86U router - ethernet backhaul - 86U AiMesh.
Can anyone please tell me if this is normal? My System Log is a constant stream of 'watchdog stuff'.

Hi there,
after the buggy update 384.19 I'm back on 384.18 and I'm still focusing the issue that a connected client is not able to access websites via VPN, but is able to access every machine in LAN/VPN and Ping/NSLOOKUP public machines. I'm kinda confused, because with nslookup google.com 172.16.4.1 it is possible to resolve the hostname.

Dear board members,
quick question I have two RT-AC88U at home and also a good old RP-AC68U (repeater, not router!) - has anyone experience running a small AiMesh (all wireless connected!) and thought to improve wifi coverage in the garden by adding my good old RP-AC68U as repeater. Anyone experience with this?
@ASUSWRT_2020 I assume RP-AC68U is off the list of planned AiMesh devices? Maybe you have also a perspective on my question above?

Please hear me out first.
This is what I want to do, let's say I have 2 devices and I want to limit the bandwidth of each individual device to 25mb/s, but also want to limit the aggregate use of both devices to 40mb/s. This way, each device can use up to 25mb/s of bandwidth, but both of them combined can only use up to 40mb/s.
I experimented and tried setting that in the QoS, like this:
Rule 1: 192.168.1.1 - 25mb/s
Rule 2: 192.168.1.2 - 25mb/s
Rule 3: 192.168.1.1-2 - 40mb/s
But it didn't...

I'm having performance issues between my headend AC1300 RT-ACRH13 and a RT-AC66U_b1. Workstations wired and wireless to the "66" see less ping packet lose to the "66" than the "13". Have spent hours with support providing documentation but so far no resolution. The "66" is configured to repeater mode.
For the problem network, with some packet lose, 5GHz headend is on channel 44 and the "66" is on channel 153 and both are narrow bandwidth and with the same SSID. Interestingly the same...

For a few past weeks, RT-AC86U was available from Walmart, - both locally (for immediate pickup from the store), and for online orders.
Something changed yesterday - very abruptly, this product became unavailable simultaneously from the local stores and Walmart.com (but it is still available from other sellers).
I wonder if it is just some sort of a random glitch in the Walmart system (possibly their distribution/supply chain), or if there is something bigger behind it, e.g. delay in...

Hi.
Long story short - currently my router cannot boot. No rescue mode. No ping.
When I power it on - LEDs on LAN2-4 and WAN blink for half a second and that's all. Afterwards - no LEDs are glowing\blinking at all. Veeery poor glow can be seen on Power LED (blue color) and WAN LED (red color) - but it's not like the LED is fully on.
If a cable is inserted in LAN2-4 or WAN - corresponding LED will be constantly glowing (so, these are the only leds that glow). Anyway, I still cannot ping...

So I have recently purchased an RT-AC86U to replace my ageing RT-AC68U as I now have 30+ devices connected to my network and the 68U was starting to show its age a little bit (sometimes devices were sluggish, and a couple if times it locked up completely requiring a full power off and on)
The RT-AC86U is a very fast and capable router and adaptive QOS works a treat on it when compared to the older 68U, however I have noticed an odd issue on the 86U though and its that it wont hold on to the...

Recently I have been suffering drops in PPP session when downloading a 1gb test file, the file gets to 800-900mb and fails because of session drop randomly. I have been trying to diagnose this for months with many routers.
Asus factory default PPP echo with Interval 6 and 10 Max failures. My ISP said this setting may be incorrect if I understand their email. Other options for Internet Detection are DNS Probe and Disabled. I am now thinking Disabled is the correct setting for my connection...

Hi all, and bear with me, as first time poster here.
I am in France where we use Orange; it comes with its own combined phone and wifi (Livebox). I run a B&B and want to:
- Extend wifi with the AC68U
- Have guestes log in using the Facebox wifi login page
Both of these should be possible, but my AC68U is not playing ball.
I've managed to get in and when I go to Admin there is no Operations tab for me to start setting up a repeater,

I have an RT-AC66u hard wired to an Xbox One via the LAN port. When I run a speed test on the Xbox I get a download speeds of 90Mbps. If I plug the Xbox straight into the modem I get speeds of 600Mpbs.
I've tried all of the LAN ports and have tried swapping multiple CAT6 and CAT5e cables between the router and modem, but get the same results regardless.

Yesterday I attached 2.5" Seagate hard drive to USB 3.0 port. Everything works fine so far (well, if you can call 25MB/s write speed fine), but one thing bugs me. Even after 2 hours of inactivity disk was still powered on and spinning.
Is that normal? And if it is, is there a way to set it up so it goes to sleep after certain time of inactivity?

First post. I have an AC5300 as my primary and two AC68Us as nodes. For several months on a daily basis I experience random drops on various hard wired and wireless devices. I called Asus support and they first asked me if I had tried to change one of my nodes to be the primary. I told them I hadn't and understood the primary router was supposed to be the most powerful, which it is. I'm thinking I'm going to have to perform the change. Due to Covid, everyone in our community is online at the same time. I have no issues with downlink but my uplink is horrible. I have the RT-AC5300 that seems to support a second WAN. In my case I don't want a second WAN as a fall over when the main goes down. I would like to purchase a second cable modem service and aggregate the two uplink bandwidths to improve my speeds. Does anyone know if this is a possible configuration and how to set it up (if it is)>

I have a Main RT-AC5300 and two AiMesh nodes RT-AC68U connected by ethernet. I am using the latest version Current Version : 3.0.0.4.384_82072-gc842320 installed automatically so the two RT-AC68's were automatically updated with the proper SW simultaneously.
For some reason my Wifes iPhone, her Surface and one of my Echo DOTs seem to loose internet access. On the surface, the Wifi signal bars will disappear from the system tray and will be replaced by the globe with no internet...

Hi
I have two internet connections, one has higher bandwidth than the other abut the latency on the second connection is better..
Is it possible to configure
RT-AC68U so that a specific device (ipad) can use the second connection which has better latency, so i can play games on it.

I hope everyone is well. Just wanted to ask for some advice. I've got some problems in the house with the RT-AC86U Wifi signal around the house due to some extensions in the house and I believe the builders may have used some steel plating in the walls.
Was thinking of getting a pair of ZenWifi XT8 to increase the range and strength of the Wifi. A couple of questions
1) Can i use the RT-AC86U as the main router and the two XT8's as nodes, either connected by wired or wireless...
