Strange Issue with RT-AC88U after Firmware Flash

I recently flashed my RT-AC88U with Asus firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_10007. Shortly thereafter, I lost both wireless bands and my upload/download speeds with the ethernet connections was extremely slow. I logged into the router and noticed that CPU usage on Core 1 and Core 2 was fluctuating wildly between 0% and 100%. Rebooting the router did not fix it. Hi guys how are you?

I really need your help to solve 2 issues that is driving me crazy here at my GT-AC5300, i made research at the forum and at the web but did not found a real solution for both cases so i`m here

The most annoying one is that my DLNA media server keeps at scanning state, if i turn it of and on again it goes to idle but if i restart the router it goes to scanning again and i have to configure everything again, how do i solve this scanning issue?

Ok heres my problem i tried flashing ddwrt to the router and it even showed up it was working but passwords were not working when i set them so i reset it and now all i get is a solid power light. Cant ping or get it to do anything else at all tried 30-30-30 tried holding wps only light i see is power light and it wont flash or anything just stay solid. I own a rt-n66 i never ever had it get where it wouldnt make it into recovery im running out of ideas.

How do I get wireless notebooks to see the NAS?

I have 3 notebooks on a 5G wireless, all they see is the others on the wireless. I need to use the NAS on the wired house network. What do I do? In file manager(on destop) I see the one of the other wireless notebooks. Is this something I need to set up in the NAS?

Just had another thought,,, How do I get my notebook(wireless) to see the destop in the office(wired)? Is this the same problem?

Everything is running Win 10

Hello,

My apologies, I am a long time follower of this forum, but first time poster and I need some (noob) help. I previously had an Asus RT-AC87U and had no issues for a long time. Shortly after redoing my kitchen, my WiFI started to act up as in dropping the connection, range became bad so I assumed it was kitchen interference, so I relocated the Asus router in my living room away, further away from the kitchen, to help correct any possible interference. I was just asked by T-Mo to return the TM-AC1900 they 'loaned me'. I flashed Merlin on it and wondering if it is even worth it to flash it back to stock... meaning, will they know and give me grief about it?

Anyone have any idea?

side note: strange how they are not smart enough just to sell it to us for $50. I'm not paying their asking price of $100 and I suspect most dont since there is a flood of refurbs on sale all the time.

The router is running ok, but seems a bit hot to me.

It's a former T-Mobile router (from Amazon, no worries), with its software reverted to an RT-AC68U then to the Merlin build for that model. As such, its CPU runs at 800 Mhz already.

The CPU is up to 75 degrees C, and wireless radios are up to 52 degrees C.

These temps seem a bit high, so I'm wondering if under-volting is possible, to reduce heat production.

If so, can someone please show me a step-by-step to accomplish it?

Recently I came to believe my 2.4GHz wifi from my RT-AC87U router died, even after factory defaults it just wouldn't want to come up again. So I decided to buy a new one.

Now, after some fiddeling with tftp firmware restore, somehow 2.4GHz came back online. Meaning: I've 2x a RT-AC87U now :p

Perfect time to test the wifi media bridge I though. But when connecting over 5GHz with 80MHz channel width I can't get the link speed to go faster than 1300mbit/s. Normally all my 5GHz devices, when...

Hello, I am getting many hits on AI Protection under "Two Way IPS" as shown in the attached screenshot. These come in groups separated by several days. The weird thing is the source IP and the destination name are the same PC. I have looked into the reported CVE but I am not familiar with Apache servers or where to find the program on my windows 10 PC that is responsible so I can look into any required updates. I am not running an Apache web server that I know of.

I am trying to reset the repeater because I can't configure it.

According to the user manual, the Wi-Fi LEDs (which show the strength of Wi-Fi signals in the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz bands) should go solid one or two minutes after powering up the unit.

Hello. I only use my RT-AC68U in repeater or media bridge mode. I just updated to the latest firmware (Version 3.0.0.4.384.10007) and repeater mode doesn't work at all. It seems that it doesn't connect to the parent router.

I bought an RT-AC86U this week. I was going to setup an AIMesh network with my older RT-AC1900P. I set everything up and noticed my internet download speeds using a few different speedtest sites was slower.

I am using Comcast/Xfinity Cable Internet with Gig speed. I tested my internet with a PC directly connected to my cable modem. and get 950/42.

Hi, I have an ASUS RT-AC1750 B1 router with recent ASUS firmware installed.

I hooked up a WD Elements 4TB external hard drive to use as a network drive, which is formatted for Apple/Mac. It is plugged into the router's USB 3.0 port.

Everything works fine except that the hard drive will not enter sleep mode unless I command it to unmount through the ASUS browser control page. Once I command it to unmount, I can't use it again until I unplug it and plug it back in. I'm not comfortable...

AiMesh problem switching back and forth between nodes

RT-AC86u main router 10007 firmware
RT-AC1900p 20287 firmware as AiMesh node

Playing a game on my Android 7 tablet in my den, about halfway between main and node. Sitting in one place.

Tablet keeps switching back and forth between main and node. Getting kicked out of game or losing connection to game.

Confirms using WiFi Manager that when I lose connectivity, it's the tablet switching between nodes. Or. The nodes switching the tablet.

Signal level to both points is about -38 dbm....

RP-AC68U stuck in a boot loop

I have a RP-AC68U, and it's stuck in, a recover mode or a loop of sorts, it won't respond to ping recovery tool doesn't work it flashes but the unit, keep blinking lights.
When it boots it preforms a rapid blink of both wifi LEDs the blinks slowly and at intervals will blink rapidly.
Wps button reset doesn't work, it seems not not respond to the reset button but I can preform a 30/30/30 reset flash the firmware with no luck.
Is there anyway to delete nv ram via serial or recover it at all,...

Greeting fellas-Hope I could get some help. I've had my mesh network up and running for almost a month now and it's been pretty stable and rock solid until last night....
