RT-AC66U Media Bridge Stability

Hello folks;

My home has two houses on it, which I've linked by a wireless bridge. Previously I used a pair of Amped Wireless SR600 repeaters for this bridge, but after upgrading one of my AP's to a RT-AC66U I was tickled pink to find 5 GHZ signals in the lower house.

So I grabbed a second RT-AC66U, put it in media bridge mode, bumped the power a little bit and in short order had a faster 5 GHZ link with lower latency (from ~3-5ms to ~0.5ms) and SNMP support to boot. Initial...

Unable to login to RT-AC68U's web gui admin after a few weeks of uptime?

I'm seeing a strange issue on my RT-AC68U's (one is primary, the second an AiMesh node, that is on a wired ethernet backhaul back to the main router). After a few weeks of uptime, I am unable to login to the webgui admin page (192.168.1.1) of the router, even though I am able to ping my router. Internet still works (that's how I am able to write this message) and client connections still works though. It's just that I can't bring up the web admin gui of the router.

A reboot or power cycle...

RT-AC5300 5 Ghz 2 not associated

Has run this device both with ASUS firmware and Merlin and always with Smart Connect. Realized that no devices connected to 2nd 5 Ghz band but thought it was a balancing question.

Tried out to run bands as seperate ones with different SSID:s and found out that no 2nd 5 Ghz band was available. In log it says for that band regardless of using Smart Connect or not:

Not associated. Last associated with
Mode : AP Only

That to say the 2nd 5 Ghz band is not available for any wifi-klient to...

RT-AC5300 slow internet speed

Hi, guys

I'm having some slow internet speed issue with my RT-AC5300 router. Any suggestion is appreciated!

Here's the situation: I got xfinity 100MBPS internet. I have a Linksys CM3024 High Speed DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 Cable Modem. When I connect my computer directly to the modem, I am seeing the speeds I expect. About 100-110Mbps. I had xfinity guys to check my line, he confirmed I can get steady 120MPBS on my modem....

Trouble connecting Macintosh and Epson printer - rest of network is fine

At some point, the macintosh laptop stopped connecting properly to our epson printer. Print jobs would time out, etc.

I have no idea where this problem is located. PCs can print without problems. Mac can sometimes see the printer. Sometimes it installs it, sometimes It can't find it, sometimes it finds it but fails with a connection error. Or stalls on "Setting up... " When I add it manually via IP, it is unable to verify the printer on the network.

Hello,

I just bought and installed a brand new Asus RT-AC88U, and just did a minimal configuration for starters. Unfortunately, while the Web GUI says that the router is connected properly through my ISP modem, on all of my machines the connection will grind to a halt constantly. I'm not sure if it's disconnecting (but doesn't look like it), or just stopping and going constantly, but nothing will pass through for a few seconds, then it will come back for a few seconds, and so on... I tried...

Looking for opinions on placement changes for my newly ordered Trio setup.

Three-story home (basement, ground, upper) with 1/4 acre pie-shaped back yard. Wireless devices pretty much everywhere in the home and back yard.

My router is upstairs in my media room. About six months ago, I had two access points installed on the first floor and one on outside on my back patio. The access points are Araknis. Prior to the installation of these access points, the media room had the best WiFi signal in the house. Now, it has the weakest signal and slowest speeds in the house. Lyra is abandonware

I bought the Lyra back when it first came out. It's been various levels of flakey since day 1, but at least they were popping out firmware bi-monthly. Now, it seems they don't even bother. Last update was Nov 2018. I know there are CVEs and other bugs as well (because I've reported them) regarding family controls, AiProtect among others. I'm really regretting this system at this point.

RT-AC3200 won't let me disable QoS in the GUI. Is there a line command?

So for some reason I am unable to shut off QoS in the RT-AC3200 GUI. I click the slider to off but when I click APPLY button there is no action. Using Web Developer in Chrome I can see there is a javsacript error of some kind. Same thing in firefox so not browser or extension specific.

I just got 1GB internet and am only getting about 600MBps on the router but direct to cable modem I get the 1GBps. Posts online seem to say that disabling QOS might fix this and pump the speed up to full....

Hi All,

I have a weird problem with my router and I guess I need to tweak some settings.
I am running both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks on my router - sometimes devices connected via WiFi cannot talk to each other.

Example: When my Apple TV 4K and my iPhone are both connected to 2.4 GHz, the remote app cannot find the Apple TV on the network. But when both Apple TV and iPhone are on 5GHz, they are able to see each other.

5GHz SSID on AiMesh node is not accesible

Hi all,
I have an RT-AC5300 as main router and a RT-AC68U that I would like to use as AiMesh Node.
Both routers has the last available firmware that appear to be the same version.
I entered in the admin page of RT-AC5300 and added AiMesh Node (rt-ac68u) all is working it seems but I noted one thing, ac-68u is replicating the 2,4ghz ssid where I'm able to connect and the 5ghz ssid where I cannot connect as it request me the password, if I put the wifi passoword it returns the error password...

Hi,
I have AiMesh network with DSL-AC68U as mesh router and RT-AC66U B1 as node connected via Ethernet with a long distance (about 20m, or 65 7 feet) cat7 F/FFTP cable.
So my small home network contains DSL-AC68U->cat6 cable->keystone jack->cat7 ->keystone jack->cat6 cable->RT-AC66U B1.
I configured the node to work over Ethernet by default and rebooted both devices.
Both devices updated to current ASUS official firmware.
My problem is that the mesh network losing Ethernet connection every...

I've been troubleshooting a printer issue - so I updated my firmware yesterday on the router. Today I drop link, and am unable to connect to router. It briefly powers up, then turns off. Not even sure where to start troubleshooting. I set up my old router, and I guess will buy a new one tomorrow. Sort of bummed I feel this guy is only 2 years old.

Hello everyone, first post here, just found this forum witch seem to be a great source of informations.

I own a Asus RT-ac68u, I really like the App on my phone to control the WIFI for kids, I often look at the list of device on my network.

Yesterday I realise that they were lots of new device there that I did not knew. The other strange thing, their MAC address all start with the same 6 caracters but different names of device. 00:08:22, my research showed that this InPro Comm....

Hello,

First time poster. Did some research here and on google and wasn't sure where to start with making some changes to improve my poor wireless speeds.

f/w: 3.0.0.4.384_45717

I have the Asus connected to a port on my Verizon Fios Quantum Router (1 gig up/down). When physically connected to router I see same gig speeds that I do when directly connected to verizon router, but the wireless speeds are terrible.

I attached (5) pics a Lenovo X220 laptop connected wirelessly...

I've bought the new Asus Blue Cave for better speed via WIFI. I have a 1 gbit/s for both directions.
Now, I have for about 250-350 mbit/s usiing Mikrotik HAP AC, but I want more speed :) and MU-MIMO for parallel downloads and TV strimming.
So, I upgrade router to the latest firmware and get maximum 150 mbit/s via 5 Gz.
It's very slow... I checked every option, trid to install custom firmware with the same result.
The 150 mbit/s is the best performance for this peice of.... Asus?

Just over a year ago I rebooted my router after a firmware upgrade, and it failed to come up. I managed to enter recovery mode and uploaded the current firmware at the time, after that update I rebooted the router (it died) and since then been unable to access rescue or recovery mode. if I hold the reset then power up only the power led lights up and remains solid. I have tried the 30/30/30 and other options mentioned but nothing seems to work.
I have held the reset for over 5 min on one...
