I have an AC86U (Primary) & AC1900P (Mesh Node) which I have been using for about a year now. I noticed recently that most wireless clients on both 2.4 ghz & 5ghz do not seem to want to disconnect from the main router. I have my AC1900P in my family room which is at the south east of my house, my AC86U is in my living room in the north west of my house. As I come in through my front door the AC86U is the first router my devices connect too as the living room is next to the front door and...

[SOLVED] RT-AC68R no aimesh in gui

I bought a used rt-ac68r on eBay. I am having trouble getting it onto my existing aimesh network. When trying to set up the ac68r there is no option in the quick setup or even after I go through the setup manually. Basically the aimesh is not in the GUI like on this thread:

DDNS Free Let's Encrypt Cert not updating. Cant access Aicloud

For some reason my lets encrypt certificate is not updating after 9/30 under the DDNS. I have disabled it and also attempted to restart the router and re-connect and it won't update. Any idea on how to force an update for the lets encrypt certificate?
All connections to my aicloud account are being denied.

I have purchased an AC86U router and would like some help on the best way to set it up so that I have optimal wireless speed.
The router is going to be used to:
  1. Connect to a 8-port Netgear switch where I run various Ethernet cables to a SKY satellite box and other mini satellite boxes
  2. Connecting to a TV for TV streaming, e.g. Netflix
  3. To a TADO device that only me to control my heating wirelessly through an IOS app
  4. To a Vodafone Sure signal device to strengthen the phone...

RT-AC68U / 86U mesh problem

Long story short:
  • I have a 68U and an 86U. I've had the 68U for years, while the 86U was purchased about a year ago. Immediately upon acquiring the 86U, I setup a mesh with the 86U my mesh router and the 68U a mesh node. All was well for many firmware updates.
  • I updated the firmware of both to 3.0.0.4.384.81049. I did this using the web UI, as I have done many times in the past. Based on past experience, this should update both routers to the new firmware. In this case, my...

AC87U > AC68U Repeater > T-Mobile Cellspot = not working

My setup is
Modem > AC87U (Merlin 384.13_1) > AC68U (Merlin 384.13) Repeater > T-Mobile Cellspot

The Cellspot is not connecting. The manual says to open some UDP ports.
But the 68, as repeater, does not show options for port forwarding/triggering.
And the 87 does not show the 68's clients.

What am I supposed to do?

I also wanted to try the Parental Controls, but they are on the 87, which does not show the 68 clients.

RT-AC66U USB Application - NFS Exports - USB stick/SSD as NFS share

If it is possible I want to use a USB stick in the router as a backup target from a Linux device since the NAS I would otherwise use is not always on. The backup job will not work with a Windows share and I cannot change anything on that side.

The NFS Exports option states "Export directories from plugged USB disks over NFS".

Is this the option I need?

Upgrade options from RT-AC66U

What would be some good options for upgrade from an RT-AC66U?

Current router is working OK but I'd like to boost wireless speeds if possible. Also, there are many devices now connected and whilst the router has been reliable (running Merlin) it's a single point of failure. I figure that the cost of a new router is cheaper than the impact from a days outage. If I upgraded I'd keep the RT-AC66U as a backup.

Hello,
Can anyone tell me what could be the cause that sometimes the WI_FI 2.4GHz of the router in question loses the signal?
The router in question is connected in cascade to a Fastgate (Tecnicolor MediaAccess DGA4131FWB).
This is connected to a Foscam cam and the signal is around 55-65 -dBm and to restart it you need to reset the power supply.It is not clear if the signal is lost by the router or modem.

asus RT-AC86U Wan port problem

Hi all,

I purchased an asus RT-AC86U few month ago.
Everything worked fine until suddenly the WAN/internet turned red.

Claimed the warranty, Sent it to repair. However, the repair centre said mine is not covered by Australia's warranty. They said mine is not Australia's series/model.

Really upset, spent $25 to get it shipped and got rejected. On the phone they said it's covered.

Anyway, I'm thinking to open it up and replace the wan port myself.
Not sure it's a good idea.

heres the thing,

I’m new to this site and to ASUS in general. My old router .....REALLY OLD ROUTER, took a crap and I found myself looking for a router.

Luckily I found this site and a few others that helped me decide to go with ASUS RT AC1900P router which I’m pretty happy with, save for one issue, my home has a HUGE fireplace that is laden with brick, concrete, and stone, so it just destroys the signal that I’m trying to catcch on the other side of the house.

I have an AC68U, firmware 3.0.0.4.384_81049-gbd61205 as my router, connected to a Netgear 3700 as a gateway. I created a family member for my son to disable internet at a specific time. When I add his xbox one to his profile the connection speed is so poor he can’t join groups to chat or play any online games. Less than 2 Mbps down and 500 Kbps up. Suddenly only one of our apple device can't connect to this router. I have done so much research that all I understand is that it's a matter of view. From Apple's view, it's the router's problem, from ASUS's view the fault is with Apple. Here are all the facts below and everything I've done. Help with openvpn on rt-ac85p

I recently got a rt-ac85p and tried setting up my vpn on it with openvpn but instead of a check mark I'm getting a yellow exclamation mark.

I uploaded the ovpn file and it told me "Lack of Static Key(Optional), Lack of Certificate Authority"
Then i clicked the import ca file and uploaded it but i still had "Lack of Static Key(Optional)"
So i opened the .key file in a text editor, copied the key and pasted it in the Static key box.
After that i tried connecting but i get that yellow...

Hi,


I am just wondering what the maximum Hard Drive size that can be used with the RT-AC86U?

I have a 4TB WD Elements, 6TB WD Elements, and a 6TB WD Red (NAS) HDD with external housing. Are these too large for the Router?

Hi guys, just recently bought an asus ac88 PCE card

I am unable to share my wifi connection using mobile access point. (windows 10)


Anyone knowledgeable about this problem ? Is there a bypass so I could use my wifi card as an access point ?

Hi to all, this is my first post
I have a Asus RP-AC68U Repeater with latest firmware 3.0.0.4.382.10513
configured as AP and a 16 GB usbkey sandisk,

my problem is dlna/upnp not detected by my device (samsung tv and 3 pc windows)

i tried all:

Meanwhile I reset to factory settings after updating the last firmware, and I turned off dhcp server by telnet (i have another router connected with dhcp server)

All work perfectly, wifi, download master, samba, aicloud,
but no dlna server is...
